Who We Are
The Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing public awareness about the progress and promise of brain research and to disseminating information on the brain in an understandable and accessible fashion. Below are the Alliance’s members and staff that help make this goal possible.
Members
The Dana Alliance includes more than 300 members joined by the common interest in advancing public awareness about the brain and brain research. Recognized as leaders in their respective fields, they are among the world’s foremost authorities on neuroscientific research and clinical neurology topics. Each has made a personal commitment to support the mission of the Dana Alliance through active participation in outreach and educational activities. Among the current members, 10 have received the Nobel Prize.

Membership Criteria
New candidates for membership are nominated by members of the Alliance, reviewed first by its Membership Committee and ratified by the Dana Alliance Executive Committee. Membership criteria include:
a) high credibility and scientific expertise as a researcher or clinician in the neurosciences, and
b) a willingness and motivation to participate in Alliance activities and events, including acting as a resource for media requests; writing and/or reviewing Dana materials; advising staff members, and lending one’s name in support of the Alliance’s mission.
Dana Alliance Staff
Based in New York, staff members are responsible for working with Alliance members; forging partnerships with other organizations in support of the Alliance's mission, creating and implementing educational and outreach programs, and developing materials to increase awareness about the benefits of brain research.
