Richard J. Hodes

Richard J. Hodes, M.D., directs the research program of the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health. A leading immunologist, he oversees research into the basic, clinical, epidemiological and social aspects of aging. He has fostered new initiatives to find the genes involved in Alzheimer’s disease and to identify biomarkers that may ultimately lead to the testing of new therapies. He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Medical School and has authored more than 250 research papers.
