Eric R. Kandel

Eric R. Kandel, M.D., is University Professor, Columbia University, a senior investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and Vice Chairman of the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives. In 2000, he shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Arvid Carlsson, M.D., and Paul Greengard, Ph.D., for “their discoveries concerning signal transduction in the nervous system.”
