Ian Cross

Ian Cross, Ph.D., is university lecturer in music and director of studies in music at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, and head of the University’s Science and Music Group. He investigates the role of culture in shaping musical cognition, the relation between music and cognitive evolution, and the limits and constraints on scientific accounts of music. Associate editor of the journals Psychology of Music and Musicae Scientiae, he has written widely on music cognition.
