Thank you! Finally, agreement with my intuition about dopamine being the neurotransmitter connected with depression (rather than serotonin); but, let a layperson tell that to various psychiatrists and practioners treating depressed individuals and the notion is pooh-poohed. I'd connected the dopamine factor to the cocaine factor: people are "up" with cocaine use and dopamine is the targeted neurotransmitter. I look forward to more information on this subject. Thanks for reporting it.

I wonder how the insights from this study would work with looking at depression as malaise (perceived physical sickness and effected by cytokines as reviewed in http://www.hedweb.com/bgcharlton/depression.html
