As one of the people she features in her book, I would like to say what an exellent job Patricia Duffy did in her book. In addition to providing the newcomer to the subject a virtual compendium on the subject, it is beautifully written. And speaking as one of her subjects in the book, I would like to add that the process of being interviewed by her and then reading her conclusions was invaluable to me. She showed me a mirror where I could find the reflection that before then had been lacking.

"Blue Cats and Chartreuse Kittens" is destined to be a classic. It is the first full-length, contemporary book by a synesthete about the phenomenon of synesthesia. Duffy describes her own experience as a synesthete as well as those of prominent artists, writers, scholars. She also tells of the pioneering neuroscientists who re-opened the field of synesthesia for academic study--and the promises this study holds for unlocking the mysteries of the brain...
