Counseling addicts for a number of years one recognizes a number of variables for addicts and recidivism. Using evidence-based treatment, the length of treatment, program program consistency, aftercare integrity, the type of drug(s), family support, community support, and other factors all can support sobriety, along with the addict's motivation, and ability to accept treatment. Even in the best of programs, mothers & fathers abandon their children, destroy their careers and other family/friend relationships. A counselor develops many theories about the "why" of an addict maintaining sobriety. I and others (who work so hard to help addicts) find ourselves wondering if there is no other way to increase the success of addicts towards sobriety. This vaccine holds great promise. I hope it is as helpful with methamphetemines.
