as a younger woman i took ketamin as a recreational drug. I never became addicted, never had an negative effects. Since stopping i have had bouts of depression, migraines and i had become obese. I stopped almost 10 years ago and during this time i have taken variour ssri's to help with my depression - i am excited about this research as i believe that if i began taking ketamine regulary again i feel my life would greatly improve.

There is a group in Russia that has been doing work with ketamine assisted psychotherapy (Krupitsky) for alchohol and opiate addictions - their posted results are not very impressive and I don't know of any other centers of research on this. There are also long term ketamine infusion protocols for people with chronic pain who are on high doses of opiates to try to get them off the high opiate doses

Is there any research regarding the use of Ketamine to prevent relapse in opiate or other addiction?
