Geri Amera
Geri Amera joined the Dana Foundation in November 2021. As the Chief Operating Officer, she is a strategic and operating partner to the President, leading the Foundation’s finance and operations to deliver on the overall mission of the Foundation. Before joining the Dana Foundation, Geri was the Associate Provost for Academic Planning and Resource Management at St. John’s University. She oversaw the academic sector’s budget and was responsible for academic planning and space management. Previously, she was the senior director of administration and finance at Cornell Tech and was a member of the founding team tasked with developing and building Cornell Tech’s graduate programs and operations. Geri has over 20 years of experience working in health care, research administration, and higher education, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and Weill Cornell Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science in biology from the City College of New York and her Master’s in public administration from New York University. Geri is a native New Yorker. She grew up in and still lives in Queens.
