New York, NY, February 4, 2015—The executive committee of the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives announced the names of fourteen members newly elected to the organization. Research interests among new members are broad, including brain injury; neurobiology of pain; epigenetics; and neurological disorders of consciousness
.

Founded in 1993, the Dana Alliance is a nonprofit organization of more than 350 leading neuroscientists committed to advancing public awareness about the progress and promise of brain research. Supported entirely by the Dana Foundation, the Dana Alliance does not fund research or make grants.

The new Dana Alliance members are:

Recognized as leaders in their respective fields, Dana Alliance members are among the world’s foremost authorities in neuroscience research and clinical neurology. Each has made a personal commitment to support the mission of the Dana Alliance through active participation in outreach and educational activities, such as Brain Awareness Week (March 16-22), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

The Dana Foundation is a private philanthropic organization that supports brain research through grants and educates the public about the successes and potential of brain research.
