Leon N. Cooper
Leon N. Cooper, Ph.D., won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1972 for development of the theory of superconductivity (with John Bardeen and J. Robert Schrieffer). He is professor of science and director of the Institute for Brain and Neural Systems at Brown University, where his research includes neural networks, the biological basis of memory and learning, the visual cortex, and foundations of quantum theory.
