John M. Freeman, M.D.

John M. Freeman, M.D., is the Lederer Professor Emeritus of Pediatric Epilepsy and professor of neurology and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. A graduate of Amherst College and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, he initiated the Division of Pediatric Neurology at Johns Hopkins in 1969 and served as its director for 23 years. He also formerly directed the Division of Pediatric Epilepsy and the Birth Defects Clinic at Johns Hopkins. Freeman is the coauthor of Seizures and Epilepsy in Childhood: A Guide for Parents and Tough Decisions: A Casebook in Bioethics.
