David Leventhal is the Program Director and a Founding Teacher of Dance for PD®, a program of the Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) that brings dance classes to people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) in more than 30 countries.
A former dancer with MMDG (1997–2011) and recipient of a Bessie Award, he has trained over 2,500 teaching artists worldwide and co-produced the Dance for PD At Home video series. David has spoken internationally on the role of dance in health and medicine and teaches a dance-based course in Columbia University’s Narrative Medicine program. His work bridges performance, education, and health to expand access to the arts and improve quality of life.
