Share Brain Science with Your Scouts!

The human brain has been called “the most sophisticated machine imaginable or unimaginable.”

Thank you for joining in the Dana Foundation mission to advance understanding about the brain. Neuroscience, or brain research, is the study of the brain and nervous system.

Planning a troop meeting about neuroscience is as easy as:

Downloading some activities (including puzzles, facts sheets, and lesson plans) from Dana Resources below to share with your scouts.

Choosing an activity for your meeting day. It can be as simple as downloading and distributing the Mindboggling Booklets and puzzle packets available below or as elaborate as inviting a neuroscientist to come and speak to your group about what it means to lead a brain-healthy lifestyle.

Want to try something hands-on? Check out More Resources below to find instructions for the popular (but simple) Mr. Egghead experiment or the brain hat activity!

We want to hear from you!

Our goal is to provide the resources for troop leaders to plan a fun-filled, educational activity for their scouts. Let us know what you think!

We’d love to hear about your brain-health troop meeting/activity and to share your ideas and photos on our website and social media. Please send them by email to Laura Reynolds or share your photos on social media with the hashtag #DanaFoundation.

By sending us your photos you are giving us permission to reproduce all materials in relevant publications, websites, and social media for promotional purposes. The Dana Foundation reserves the right to edit the materials for the purposes of consistency and style.
