Mathias Jucker, Ph.D.
Mathias Jucker, Ph.D., is a professor at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research at the University of Tübingen and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases in Tübingen. He is head of the university’s Department of Cellular Biology of Neurological Diseases and spokesperson of the Graduate School of Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience in Tübingen. Jucker studied neurobiology at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich and completed his Ph.D. there in 1988 before working as a postdoc and research scientist at the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore. He relocated to the University of Basel as a junior professor (START fellow) and, in 2003, moved to the Hertie Institute.
