Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS)

This grant continues support for the FENS-Dana Foundation Brain Awareness Week grants program in Europe. The program provides grants of up to €1000 each for outreach and engagement activities organized in celebration of the 2026 and 2027 Brain Awareness Week campaigns.    

The FENS/Dana Brain Awareness Week grants program is instrumental in supporting neuroscience outreach and engagement activities in communities that often face barriers such as limited resources, access to educational opportunities, and awareness of neuroscience research. Administered by FENS since 2006, the program serves as an effective vehicle for connecting communities with scientists and for disseminating accessible, credible information about neuroscience and its relevance to people’s everyday lives. This grant enables a diverse group of neuroscientists to bring impactful neuroscience outreach and engagement activities to communities around the world, fostering understanding, building relationships, and strengthening the connection between neuroscience and society.  

For 2026 and 2027, FENS prioritizes projects that align strongly with Brain Awareness Week’s mission to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science; creative and culturally responsive in their approach to outreach and engagement; and from countries and regions that have been underrepresented in past campaigns.
