A Foundation planning grant for a potential Dana Center for Neuroscience & Society was awarded to a collaboration between Georgia State University and Emory University. The goal of the proposed Center was to transform basic, translational, and clinical research and training by fundamentally reorganizing community involvement in stress and trauma research and focusing on minoritized populations that are particularly impacted by individual and systemic stress and trauma. The planning grant team assembled an interdisciplinary group of faculty, trainees, and community stakeholders comprised of members from Georgia State University, the Grady Trauma Project at the Grady Health Center and Emory University School of Medicine, and various community groups in Atlanta.
