A Foundation planning grant for a potential Dana Center for Neuroscience & Society was awarded to Johns Hopkins University. The project pursued three aims (1) establishing a neuro-civics curriculum within graduate neuroscience training programs; (2) integrating stakeholder engagement and attention to ethical issues within the Nation’s first equitech ecosystem for neuroscience; and (3) creating a co-design studio for the creation and dissemination of open resources necessary for scaling and sustaining neuroscience and society research and practice. The planning grant team focused on creating pathways for civic engagement with neuroscience and emphasized developing a framework for nurturing conversations across disparate groups.
