Massachusetts General Brigham (MGB)
Grant Information
This grant supports the Neurobridge Initiative, a collaboration between Massachusetts General Brigham McLean Hospital and the Broad Institute aimed at creating healthier and more inclusive interdisciplinary neuroscience research ecosystems. Neurobridge brings together neuroscientists, clinicians, neuroethicists, social scientists, and individuals with lived experience of brain and mental health conditions to address systemic barriers in neuroscience research, such as misaligned incentives, academic silos, and polarized values. The project will focus on developing key components of Neurobridge’s engagement framework through workshops and discussion-based methods designed to build trust and foster collaboration. These efforts will produce practical tools, including a communication guide, a research strategy toolkit, and community engagement guidelines, to support more effective and inclusive interdisciplinary research. The project will also establish a community of practice to sustain long-term engagement and collaboration.
By embedding diverse perspectives into neuroscience research and fostering reflexive, collaborative, trust-based relationships, this project aligns with the Fronier’s Program’s objective of supporting neuroscience and society practitioners who champion inclusive, effective models of multidirectional engagement and advances the Dana Foundation’s values of building trust and promoting collaboration.
