Research!America
Grant Information
This grant supports Research!America’s Public Engagement Training Content Microgrant Program, which will fund eight microgrants awarded by Research!America for the development of neuroscience-focused public engagement curriculum content. The program provides competitive microgrants to early-career scientists, professional degree candidates, and non-tenured faculty in neuroscience and related fields to create and test public engagement training materials. Awardees will receive $5,000 to develop content delivered through workshops, classroom instruction, and online resources, with a focus on improving scientists’ ability to engage with non-expert audiences and build trust with diverse communities. Research!America will select projects representing a range of geographic, institutional, and socioeconomic settings, among other factors that reflect the program’s broader goals. The public engagement training content will be open-access and publicly available, expanding the reach and impact of the program. Research!America will partner with awardees and the Dana Foundation to promote and disseminate the completed projects.
By supporting the development of professional training in public engagement, this project advances the Dana Frontiers objective to develop engagement resources that cultivate trust and improve the quality of relationships between neuroscientists and communities of people.
