Grant Information
The goal of the Oxford Winter Neuroethics School (OWNS) is to provide the next generation of neuroethicists with high-quality training in a core set of skills and methods required for interdisciplinary neuroethics research, as well as foster emerging scholars from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). OWNS is structured as an intensive, hybrid course that culminates in an in-person “Learning Accelerator.” Furthermore, participants (which will include post-baccalaureate, graduate, and post-doctoral scholars, as well as professionals working in industry and policy) will develop a capstone mock research proposal, which will encourage collaborative work among the cohort, incorporating perspectives from multiple disciplines. The Foundation grant sponsors bursaries and travel grants for successful post-baccalaureate, graduate, and post-doctoral applicants from LMICs.
This grant supports the Dana NextGen objective to prepare trainees at early career stages to think critically and reflexively about the ethical, legal, and societal implications raised by real-world neuroscience applications through experiential learning and innovative curricula.
