University of Pennsylvania
Grant Information
A Foundation planning grant for a potential Dana Center for Neuroscience & Society was awarded to the University of Pennsylvania. The mission of the proposed Center was to create new, inclusive approaches to neuroscience education, engagement, and research that will shape the future practice of neuroscience and its impact on all members of society. The planning grant team focused on neuroscience and society education for neuroscientists, entrepreneurs, and other professionals; bidirectional neuroscience public engagement; and a translational neuroethics research paradigm.
This grant supports the Dana NextGen objective to encourage rigorous, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary work between neuroscience and non-science disciplines to solve complex problems that cannot be answered by neuroscience alone.
