This grant supports a Civic Science Fellow to explore the ethical and societal implications of sleep neuroscience in partnership with the Santa Ana, California, community.

This grant supports the sponsorship of a Civic Science Fellowship at the Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics (BCSP), where an emerging thought leader will focus on the impacts of advances in psychedelic science through collaborative civic engagement.

This project, initially awarded $150,000 and later supplemented with an additional $125,000, supports a collaboration between the American Brain Coalition (ABC) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that seeks to facilitate meaningful involvement of brain health community members in the neural device development and regulatory process, establish a communication platform, and foster sustained partnerships and meaningful engagement among brain health stakeholders and the FDA.

This grant is seeding the establishment of the Implantable Brain Computer Interface Collaborative Community (iBCI-CC), a cross-sector collaboration among groups with personal and/or professional interests in overcoming systemic challenges related to researching, developing, regulating, and paying for implantable BCI treatments.

The Dana Foundation, together with other philanthropic foundations, supported a series of Congressional Neuroscience Caucus (CNC) briefings hosted by the American Brain Coalition (ABC).

The Foundation is supporting The Chicago Council for Science and Technology (C2ST) for a multidirectional engagement project using the tools of human-centered design (HCD) to surface the needs, interests, and attitudes of a diverse group of Chicago residents as they relate to brain health.
