Program

This three-year grant will continue support for the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Science Educator Award program. The Science Educator Award recognizes excellence in promoting neuroscience literacy and contributions made to public information about neuroscience. Each year, the award honors up to two scientists who have made significant contributions to public education about neuroscience.

SfN will hold an open nomination for the Science Educator Award each spring, and eligible nominees will undergo a rigorous review process by an expert selection committee. Nominees’ work is judged on how well it addresses SfN’s education and outreach goals, the breadth of people impacted, the innovative nature of the work, and the potential for broad dissemination. The award is presented at the Presidential Special Lecture, one of the most high-profile, widely attended events at SfN’s annual meeting.

This grant supports the Dana Education objective to facilitate greater understanding and informed decision-making among professionals by supporting new education approaches on neuroscience topics related to their practice.
